Examples of media garbage and exploitation

Reading the news nowadays is like reading a gossip magazine or maybe a magazine concentrated on predicting the end of the world. It’s not even interesting watching the news on television nowadays either, since it is one “shocking” news item after another. Horrible, just horrible !

A few examples might be in order, to maybe clarify a few things and also maybe, just maybe shed some light on a more urgent matter. A matter of endless supplies of garbage rumors, hearsay and even more garbage.

Example nr. 1 - Britney Spears
Okay i can admit that the bitch is good looking at times, but lately she hasn’t looked, to me, to feel that great. What is it that they say, looks can be deceiving ? It might be the case, but i seriously doubt it. Anyway, it wasn’t Miss Spears looks that i’m going to give an example of, instead it’s the way media constantly digs up revelation upon revelation concerning Miss Spears personal life and behaviours.

Frankly, who gives a flying fuck about the “fact” that Miss Spears has kissed and made out with her assistant, Miss Shannon Funk ?! I don’t see how that could be front page news on various printed media and websites across the globe, i just don’t get it. What is it that is so damn interesting with a girl making out with another girl ? Haven’t you seen a lesbian porn movie in your lifetime or is it just a sexual fantasy of all the worlds news editors that makes it newsworthy ?

Also i don’t find if particularly interesting to hear stories about here from a anonymous source or a old grammar school classmate spilling the beans on Miss Spears and her antics. Who gives a shit what she does, she has already proven that she lost her mind, no need to gloat in her demise.

I’m not defending Britney Spears, but i just think it’s sad that everyone is trying to make money of her fame by “making up” stories and telling “their” stories to the press. Isn’t it more interesting to hear it from the girl herself and what she has to say, instead of all these opportunists that just want to make money ?

Example nr. 2 - The end of the world theory
When you watch the news on TV or read it online or in a newspaper, you always come across words like : Breaking news, News Flash, Disaster struck, Catastrophic, War, Revealing documents, Shocking, Massacre, Breakdown, Death toll, The biggest, The best etc. etc. etc. It never ends, the list just goes on and on.

I wonder if journalists today have a special book with words that needs to be included in a news report, regardless of the topic. It seems to me that the more “shocking” a news segment is, the more of these above stated words need to be added to make it even more “shocking”. I do not believe that there is any newspaper, radio station or news program out there today that isn’t using the “book of shocking words” in order to create interest. It’s sad that the art of telling news as they happen is fading away and it becomes more of a show with effects, like a movie. A movie filled with amazingly “shocking” words mixed with rumors, speculations and so called eyewitnesses, telling their story of what might just have happened.

Example nr. 3 - Making up the truth
I honestly don’t believe anything that is said in a “LIVE” broadcast from a disaster or war these days, because it is all so polished and refined that it is like watching a movie. Fiction, Speculations, Accusations, Rumors, Hearsay and Unconfirmed Sources are things that almost all “LIVE” broadcasts consists of, a mix that only confuse and questions the credibility of the news broadcasts. Nothing is final until the investigation is over or confirmed facts have emerged.

CNN are kings on making these types of “LIVE” broadcasts and we have all seen it over and over again on TV. Do you really believe all the things being said in a “LIVE” report from CNN or any other news station ? It’s all a very well orchestrated show combined with “LIVE” uncensored footage directly from the scene.

We have all seen the images from the Afghanistan and Iraq war portrayed on CNN, SkyNews and BBC and how the US Army “won the battle” in the early hours of the war. It all looked like a very big fireworks show with happy Americans helping the afghan and Iraqi people liberate their own country. Did you believe that as well ? I surely didn’t, since war isn’t a orchestrated show to be viewed “LIVE” on TV, because people actually die for real !

Both these wars was well orchestrated by the Pentagon in terms of propaganda and misleading information. Well done, Mr. George W. Bush ! We all fell much safer now, that you are in control of the world police !

As you might have realised by now, i’m not to happy with the media and it’s portray of the world around us. Call me paranoid and delusional, but i just don’t believe in the media anymore. Do you ?
