Zeitgeist

I saw the Zeitgeist Movie yesterday and i fell in love with it. I guess i fell in love with it because it makes you question a lot of things around you. I highly recommend that you see it, because you are going to thank me and the makers of the movie afterwards.

The movie made me question my whole belief system that i’ve established over the last 30 years and it’s frightening and interesting at the same time. At the same time as it raises a lot of questions, it also make you think about how easy you can be manipulated over time. Whether it’s your own government that is manipulating you or if it the media, you get suckered in and you rarely question it. That is the really scary part.

Call it a wake up call or a epic journey of the modern era, but most of all it makes you wonder and question a lot of things. It might even make a lot of people very angry.

Anyway, see it !

The Mission Statement of the World:

Written in the hearts and minds of every man, woman, and child

Self-Realization is the purpose for mankind. It is the key to total freedom and spirit of community. It is the goal of personal development; the Enlightenment that we all are searching for! With it, we will not only be the most of what we can be, but we are also one with eachother and the rest of mankind. To use religious terms, Man was created to be an image of God and Man´s obligation is to fulfill God´s purpose. This self-realization is now the most crucial and important thing that we have to master. We can all succeed at is we just make the smallest of efforts.

Self-realization is found on a theoretical level through the study of art, religion and philosophy. Art
gives an aesthetic picture of reality as it really is, but it can be hard to grasp at times for some people.
Religion is a good way to gain understanding of eternity, but focus must be shifted away from the
cultural preferences, which are the center of most religions today. The worship must also be directed
towards eternity (or God) as it really is: beyond every cultural conception. The cultural conceptions
only make people argue about the true nature of eternity or God. We have to understand that eternity and God´s true nature is beyond our words. Many important things have been misunderstood when people try to force their personal interpertations on others with poorly chosen words.

This is where philosophy comes in: to clarify what is true through logic and thought. Philosophy is a way to take reality and form it into ideas that have meaning outside the cultural understanding of this world. The goal of this way of thinking is to throw off the shackles of the mass cultural understanding of “how the world is supposed to” be by taking steps in changing the way one sees the world. Only when a person frees himself from this mass cultural understanding of the world is he able to fully free himself. When this same person does not strive for this change, he is able to be constantly manipulated and controlled by outside forces and becomes a product of his environment because he does not understand himself—let alone see and understand the world around him for what it really is! A person who truly understands himself is in harmony with the universe thus making him completely independent and therefore resistant to negative outside forces. Examples of this independence throughout history ranges from Greek philosophers: Socrates and Diogenes to Jesus, Buddha, and in modern times, Ghandi. Most saints and some other holy people are good examples of true independence.

The emphasis and focus in society should be on each individual person and their self-realization instead of on economic growth as it has been for the past several hundred years. To explain the significance look at this concept clearly, one must draw a metaphor to a cathedral that has lasted throughout the ages. To build a cathedral, something beautiful, powerful and immense, there needs to be some economic focus to provide the raw materials needed to build the entire structure. But the cathedral is nothing without the brilliant minds to create it and invision its towering arches and huge stained-glass windows. These brilliant minds are so vast that they can come up with their own way of economically managing their endeavor. If the economic growth and gathering of raw materials is the most important, then there will be a pile of useless rubble in the place of this cathedral; an extremely large and growing pile of rubble—something useless all the same. Our culture is so focused on this economical growth that the people of the society do not see much else than a pile of rubble. Everything becomes one unenjoyable routine and the beauty of life dissapates into the background. If the society begins to value enlightenment and encouraging growth in the minds of its people, then not only will it be able to build the most beautiful cathedral the world has ever seen, but it can provide its own raw materials as well! There is no losing with the refocusing of a society off of economic growth and on to intellectual development.

Because the growth in the minds that make up the Western societies has been so deftly curbed, material possessions mean to others than a person´s substance! Look at our popular celebrities! Owning more land, cars, clothes, shoes, jewels, etc. does not lead to happiness though popular opinion dictates otherwise. Mankind must understand this as it begins to see that society needs to direct itself towards a new goal. The sooner everyone sees this, the quicker change is brought about to make humans closer to natural harmonies with not only the world around them, but eachother as well. What we all face now is the destruction of our world due to the insecurities of the people in it. We see the negative slowly overcoming all that is good though so many identical attempts for economic freedoms and material possessions.

Things can change. It only takes one person to tip the scale to change the world for the best.

I hope the March 15th of the world premiere of the movie Zeitgeist will cause a lot of newspapers from a lot countries to start hounding the U.S. Government to admit they were behind the 9/11 attack. These people need to be removed from power.

Freedom means many different things to many different people, but every human being possesses the power of free will. I hold my own freedom very dear. I have the freedom of thought, choice and action. I can wake up in the morning and chose what I can do and accomplish that day. This freedom is very empowering for me.
As conscious human beings our free will is what separates us from animals. We are conscious and every person can choose their own thoughts, actions, and beliefs. We all have the freedom to choose our own destiny in life.
Our senses connect us to the outer world and our conscious and free will connects us to the inner world of our perceptions, emotions, and thoughts, and feelings. I think freedom plays the biggest role in our thoughts and actions. We have less control over our emotions and feelings; they are more of a response to our environment. While our thoughts, actions, and perceptions stem from our power of free will. Our freedom helps us to connect the outer world and the inner world.
I’m feel free because I can wake up every morning and choose what I want to do that day, where I want to go, and who I want to spend my time with. I have the freedom to choose my friends, I have the freedom to choose who I love, and I have the freedom to be the person I want to be. I think as we grow and mature our free will and what we do with it shapes us into the people we become.
Sometimes I question my freedom in today’s society because it seems they are constantly being challenged. After watching A Century of Self, and Zeitgeist I really questioned a lot. How free are we really? Many people are caught up in themselves and the pursuit of the dollar that they can loose sight of what really matters. Another example of our freedoms being challenged was the Patriot Act. It seems ironic that this could occur in the country that was founded on the beliefs of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Even though it seems that we our freedoms are constantly being challenged in society, I believe that no one could ever take away my personal freedom. No one can take away my freedom to think for myself. Thinking for myself and using my mind is the most important aspect of my own personal freedom.
