Numb
One of the greatest tracks from Portishead is “Numb” from the album Dummy. The music is a mix between narcotic rhythms, hypnotic samples and film noire. It’s just brilliant and very emotional. One could describe this track and all the others on the album as a natural synthesis of claustrophobic spy soundtracks with confessional lyrics and angst-ridden self-deprivation.
