The Girl You Lost To Cocaine

One of this years biggest tunes is a track called “The girl you lost to cocaine” by SIA and really like it a lot. I found these two videos on Youtube and you can really hear the diversity from the arrangement between them two. Below are also the lyrics inserted, for those who like to read while listening.

First we have a Live version from a radio show on KCRW in 2007 :

Next we have the Stonebridge Radio Edit of the track :

Lyrics (courtesy of Megamind)
I’ve stuck around, through thick and through thin
You cannot deny, I’ve always been in
But I’ve watched you stand, still as a snowman
But I don’t see you change, you’re always at meltdown

Yeah I’ve been your crutch, your smell sight and touch
Yeah I took you home when you’ve drunk too much
But I can’t survive, with you by my side
See I’ll never get laid, while I’m running your life

No I just don’t wanna, so I’m walking away
There is nothing that you can do I will not stay
No I don’t need drama, so I’m walking away
Yeah I am a girl with a lot on her plate

So just cut me loose, learn to tie your shoes
There’s somebody here, I’d like to introduce
So look in the mirror, look for the glass
‘Cause you’re not my problem, you are my last

No I just don’t wanna, so I’m walking away
There is nothing that you can do I will not stay
No I don’t need drama, so I’m walking away
Yeah I am a girl with a lot on her plate

No I just don’t wanna, so I’m walking away
There is nothing that you can do I will not stay
No I don’t need drama, so I’m walking away
I’m just a girl that you lost to cocaine

Together, we will live forever

Sometimes there are tracks that you just fall in love with or they struck a cord that makes you so emotionally disturbed that you start to cry or just want to die. When i listen to Clint Mansell’s track “Together, we will live forever” from the movie The Fountain, i got those previously mentioned emotions.

It’s a beautiful track that is yet so simple, yet so emotional. I’ve enclosed a video of it and it features the movie as well, but just close your eyes and listen. Nothing more is required.
