People and their values

I read on a Swedish site today, called Aftonbladet and i especially read a news piece called (in Swedish) Visa inte hur vi är otrogna ombord (Do not show how we are unfaithful onboard in English). This news piece is about ordinary people, Swedes, who are going on a cruise with a boat called Cinderella in the Baltic Sea and onboard there is also a TV crew making a sort of reality TV-series about the people working onboard. Pretty harmful right ?

Well here is a twist and that is that ordinary Svenssons (Average Joe in English) that go on these cruises sort of uses the fact that they are on a boat in the middle of the sea, where all kinds of things happen. Well, if you are familiar with the term “What happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas” then you can imagine the behaviours of some more then desperate men and women on this boat, enjoying themselves.

The thing is, that is also the story in the news piece, that people cheat on their spouse and loved ones on this boat and some of it made it on to the TV-show called Färjan (The Ferry in English) and this is upsetting the very same people that are cheating on the boat.

Well, here is what i think about that and also how stupid people or should i say mankind really are.
1. If you are cheating on your spouse or loved one, then reconsider the fact that you really don’t love the person whom you are cheating on with another man or woman.
2. If you are going on a cruise where it is announced that TV will be filming the whole trip, chances are that you might end up on TV. It never crossed your mind did it ?
3. If you really can’t live with your actions, that might have been filmed, then consider the fact that you fucked it all up on your own. you made it happen and you shall live with the fact that you fucked up your own realationship. It’s not TV’s fault, it’s yours !
4. Don’t go on blaming Kanal 5, who is airing the TV show, for your own actions. Take responsability for your own actions.

If you take the time to read the article and various others on the subject you will find that Swedes very easily put the blame on the TV channel that airs the show and also wants to make them responsable for fucking up their own personal life. Well, i don’t really give a shit, since those people, which life gets fucked up put that on themselves, not the TV show, since the TV show is about the people that work on the boat, not you as a passenger. Somehow, that got a bit lost, when people, those cheating bastards, used their head when it was announced that the show was about to air on TV.

All i have to say about it is something that might be a little buddist way of thinking, mainly “It’s you shit, deal with it !”.
