All My Love Is Gone

Some say that cycling is one of the most boring sports ever created and by being so boring all contestants are using performance enhancing drugs just not to feel bored. Some would even go so far as to say that cycling is all about not getting caught in a drug screening and that they spend just as much getting doped up as they do looking good.

I would rather say to those focusing solely on the drugs, that they are more fascinated by drugs then sports. Drugs are always going to be part of any sport, when it’s performed on such a level as World Cup, Olympic or World Championships. There are always a few people that will use drugs to cheat their way into the history books or achieve better results in their careers.

Cheating is a way for some, but there are millions that don’t cheat or use drugs. I love cycling and I always will. I’m in ore each time cyclists like Fabian Cancellara runs a Time Trial against the clock or when Lance Armstrong, Alberto Contador or Mauricio Soler peddles like there is no tomorrow up a mountain in the French Alps and they all make it look so easy. They make it look easy because they are the best in the game. It’s man and machine against nature and that is a battle I love to watch.

Surely one could say that I have manic infatuation with the Tour de France and cycling in general. One could even so far to say that it has become a drug of sorts, that each year during July is being taken care off. I wouldn’t go so far as to say any of it. I just love cycling because cycling on TV and in real life has given me so much. There is nothing better then getting on the bike in the morning and riding, at a pace of ones choice, and getting exercise as well as a nature experience. It’s not about going from A-B or C-D, it’s about enjoying life and fresh air. Surely I’ve crashed and banged up my body as many times as I’ve see the Tour de France LIVE on TV, but I still get back on and ride.

A part of the reason why I have become more an more “obsessed” with cycling is due to two people on Eurosport (Sweden) named Roberto Vacchi & Anders Adamson. I always have a smile upon my face when I see the Tour de France, just because of the commentary made by these two adorable men.

So, even though you are not a big fan of cycling and sitting indoors in July when the sun shines outside, then just give it a try when the sun doesn’t shine. You won’t be disappointed. This is my drug/passion of choice and it’s addictive as hell and gives you a great pleasure.
